Colin Rabjohn
is the owner of Logistics Works and has nearly 30 years experience in logistics
and supply chain. He is a production
engineer by training and logistics
“found him” in 1980 when he joined the then National Materials Handling Centre
at Cranfield University as a consultant. From there he moved into the 3pl sector,
holding senior roles within Exel Logistics, Danzas, Tibbett & Britten (all now part of DHL) and TDG, before moving back
into consultancy in 2004.
His experience covers a wide range of
industries including Fashion Retail, Food Manufacturing and Retail,
Pharmaceuticals, Spare Parts and the Public
Sector. He has worked extensively across
mainland Europe, including extended periods in Spain,
Belgium and the Netherlands as well as in the UK, USA
and Russia.
His key area of expertise is in
warehousing and he has designed and implemented several high profile
facilities, including automated operations.
He also has a strong track record of performance improvement and cost
reduction and has a knack for spotting relatively small
changes that can reap large rewards by
applying lean principles and focussed data analysis.
Colin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute
of Logistics and Transport (UK) and is currently vice chair of the Warehousing
and Materials Handling Forum.
